LIV Golf just picked up a major win—this time off the course. At the 2025 Sports Technology Awards in London, LIV and their graphics partner Champion Data took home top honors for Best Use of Fan Engagement Technology by a Sports Organization. The award recognizes the “Any Shot, Any Time” feature on the LIV Golf app—an ambitious tech play that’s changing how fans experience live golf.
For those who haven’t tried it, “Any Shot, Any Time” is exactly what it sounds like. Through a Smart CGI Graphics Interface powered by AI, the platform lets fans follow any player, any team, on any hole, in real time—or catch up later. It’s 18 live group streams, personalized and made accessible through a clean, intuitive interface.
The system was built through a close collaboration between LIV’s broadcast, product, and events teams—alongside a roster of heavy-hitting tech partners including Champion Data, NEP, Mobii, and View Lift.
The judges behind the Sports Technology Awards called the platform a standout, saying it gave fans a “more immediate and tailored live golf experience” and praised its sophistication and potential to reshape how golf is followed.
James Watson, LIV Golf’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Production and Media, called the win a testament to two years of work behind the scenes. “Giving fans the ability to follow their favorite teams and players live or later has been a key pillar in LIV Golf’s broadcast strategy since day one,” he said. “This award is fantastic recognition for the hard work put in by our whole team on the ‘Any Shot, Any Time’ project. We can’t wait for fans to see what we have in store next.”
LIV wasn’t just a one-hit mention at this year’s awards, either. They were also shortlisted for Sports Organization of the Year, Innovation of the Year, and Best Data and Analytics for Storytelling—going head-to-head with major global players like the NBA, Roland Garros, Supertri, and the England and Wales Cricket Board.
Since launching in 2013, the Sports Technology Awards have become one of the top honors in the industry, spotlighting innovation that pushes sports—and the fan experience—forward. LIV Golf, clearly, is swinging hard in that direction.
