If you’ve ever wanted to relive a full round of PGA TOUR golf without carving out four hours of your life, the TOUR may have just dropped your new favorite feature.

Last week at the 3M Open, the PGA TOUR quietly launched something called Rapid Rounds—bite-sized, edited versions of entire player rounds featuring big names and hot hands, served up in 10–15 minute packages across CBS Sports, Golf Channel, NBC, ESPN, and TOUR digital platforms.

Think: every shot. No filler. No commentary tangents. Just the full story of a round in highlight-reel form.

A Smarter Way to Keep Up

With the way golf coverage has evolved—more cameras, more streams, more shot-tracking—it was only a matter of time before someone reimagined how fans consume rounds. And according to PGA TOUR EVP of Media Norb Gambuzza, that’s exactly the idea behind Rapid Rounds:

“Fans can now watch every drive, approach, and putt from players they care about—in one quick, clean package.”

It’s a win for the fan who doesn’t have all day. Whether you're recapping the round of a rising star or catching the full final push from a tournament winner like Kurt Kitayama, who had a full 14-minute breakdown posted after his win—it’s efficient, digestible, and way more engaging than sifting through a bloated replay.

Not Just a Highlight Reel—A Player-Focused Experience

Rapid Rounds isn’t just about showing the good shots. It’s about the full rhythm of a round. You see how a player navigates momentum shifts, manages mistakes, and strings together birdie runs—or bogey spirals. It’s a cleaner, truer representation of the grind.

The feature is currently in a test phase through the end of 2025, but the early signs point to this becoming a regular staple of PGA TOUR media content. And honestly, it should be. Golf fans are hungry for this kind of player-specific content that’s both comprehensive and quick.

Fan Forward: Listening and Delivering

Rapid Rounds is the latest innovation to come out of the Fan Forward initiative—a TOUR-wide campaign launched last year to get honest feedback from fans and adjust accordingly.

The data? Over 50,000 fans responded, with more than 40% asking for more highlights and round recaps.

Justin Thomas, who serves on the TOUR’s Player Advisory Council, is already sold on the direction this is heading:

“We asked what fans wanted, and this is one of the clearest answers we got. Rapid Rounds is something that bridges the gap between casual and hardcore fans—this is a tool that makes golf more watchable for everybody.”

Where to Watch & What’s Next

You can find Rapid Rounds on PGA TOUR digital platforms and through broadcast partners like CBS Sports, Golf Channel, and ESPN. Expect more rounds to roll out during marquee events, with featured groups, leaderboard climbers, and fan favorites getting the Rapid Rounds treatment.

Whether you’re recapping a round on your lunch break or studying a player’s strategy before Sunday’s final group—this is the kind of forward-thinking media content the TOUR needs more of.
